WARDOGS Troubleshooting Guide

1. Separate access from installation

If WARDOGS does not appear in the Steam library, first check whether the Steam account received access and whether a test is currently active. Completing the community signup or requesting access is not a guarantee.

Use the official signup dashboard, email associated with the process, Steam store state, and official announcements. Do not reinstall system software to solve an account that has not been invited.

2. Check the official PC requirements

The current minimum targets Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-8600 or Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB RAM, a GTX 1660 or RX 590, broadband internet, and 50 GB storage. Steam includes a 1080p Low 60fps upscaled target note.

Compare the whole PC and recheck the Steam page because pre-release requirements can change. For performance symptoms, record resolution, quality preset, driver version, background workloads, and the exact game build before drawing conclusions.

3. Use normal Steam repair steps

For an installed build that will not launch:

1. Restart Steam and the PC once.
2. Confirm the game and Steam client are current.
3. Use Steam’s built-in verification for installed files.
4. Read the exact Easy Anti-Cheat or game error instead of substituting a generic fix.
5. Check current developer announcements for known test issues.

These steps are reversible and use supported platform tools.

4. Respect input and platform limits

Controller support is officially described as limited, so a missing prompt or incomplete control path may reflect the current build rather than a hardware fault. Linux is not a current development priority, and no WARDOGS-specific Proton or Steam Deck result is confirmed.

Do not use a Windows troubleshooting checklist as proof that an unsupported or unverified platform should work.

5. Handle anti-cheat messages carefully

Steam confirms kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat. The reviewed official sources do not make Secure Boot mandatory, so this guide does not direct users into BIOS or UEFI changes.

Capture the exact anti-cheat error, verify files, and use a current official instruction if one exists. Avoid deleting security components, downloading third-party repair utilities, or applying registry edits from another game.

Report a reproducible issue

A useful report includes:

• the exact error text or screenshot;
• the WARDOGS build and test name;
• operating system version;
• CPU, GPU, RAM, and driver version;
• whether the issue happens after a clean restart;
• the shortest steps that reproduce it.

Send that evidence through the official Steam community or the feedback route named for the current playtest.
